UAA scholars recently took part in the World Scholar’s Cup Global Round in Prague, competing alongside scholars from around the world.

Throughout the Global Round, our scholars achieved outstanding individual results. In Individual Debate, Zeynep K. placed 8th and Anberin Ö. placed 12th, with Anberin also selected to participate in the Debate Showcase. Sefa Sarp U. placed 15th overall in the Scholar’s Challenge, while Dora S. received the Asimov Award.

Our scholars also delivered remarkable results in the team categories. In Team Debate, Ada Deniz E., Melis Erişmiş, and Anberin Özdemir placed 8th, followed by Zeynep K., Ada E., and Yağmur Y. in 9th place. In Collaborative Writing, Derin Su T., Beril G., and Zeynep Melis Ç. placed 17th, while Jülide G., Sefa Sarp U., and Deniz Ece Ö. placed 20th. Ada Deniz E., Melis E., and Anberin Ö. also finished 31st overall as a team.

Beyond the competition, our scholars participated in the Cultural Fair and Talent Show, where they shared a piece of Turkish culture with the international community through a traditional Zeybek dance.

We are especially proud to announce that all 13 UAA teams qualified for the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions at Yale University this November!
